The Patagonia 'Bivy' Down Vest is warm, but slightly heavy. The nylon is soft and seems durable. Waterproofing is only on the shoulders and collar, but I think it will be excellent for the chilly, dry days in fall and spring. The zipper on a couple different versions I tried on was a little weak and occasionally came undone from the bottom. The quality of the Patagonia 'Bivy' Down Vest is true Patagonia style. It fits and feels amazing. I'm a Med and it fits perfect.
